Job Description

As a member of an interdisciplinary family practice team the Receptionist provides as part of the team, comprehensive communication with patients of all ages with an emphasis on health promotion and prevention, health education and chronic disease management. As part of the family practice team, the Receptionist provides ongoing service coordination and links patients with resources.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Professionally and kindly interact with our patients, clinic team and healthcare partners.
  • Schedule and booking patient appointments.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient referrals for tests and follow ups.
  • Serve as a patient advocate and assist patient to advocate for themselves.
  • Make phone calls and be able to take accurate messages.
  • Managing clinic information within the electronic medical record.

Position Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a Primary Care setting a plus.
  • Efficiency working with electronic medical records a plus.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Clear & concise communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and effectively manage competing priorities.

Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional early morning or late evening meetings may be required.
