Family Physician - Crowsnest Medical Clinic

Crowsnest Medical Clinic is a collegial family practice seeking family physicians for both Locum and Regular Associate opportunities beginning July 1, 2025. Typical locums are 1 to 4 weeks, but longer locum terms may also be considered.

Crowsnest Pass is a beautiful mountain community of 6,000 residents in Southwestern Alberta. The clinic has 15 exam rooms, an up-to-date electronic medical record, in-house social work, physiotherapy and ultrasound, as well as consultant services including a diabetes educator, lactation consultant and mental health support. The clinic employs a dedicated group of staff including Nurses, Reception, MOA, Panel Manager, Referrals Coordinator and Clinic Manager. Billing is fee for service through the EMR with billing support provided by off site contractors. Expenses are shared equally among all physicians. Overhead is calculated with fixed and variable elements; physicians are billed monthly.

In addition to clinic practice, physicians staff the local 24/7 emergency department, manage inpatients/obstetrics in the 17-bed hospital, cover long term care and the local lodge, and work with an active surgical department. Low risk obstetrical skills are preferred for shared call but not required. Emergency Department call is supported by local on call surgical and anesthesia backup, and on call specialty services in Lethbridge (1.5 hours) and in Calgary (2.5 hours).

The hospital has pharmacy, social work, physiotherapy, occupational and recreational therapy support. Crowsnest Medical Clinic physicians actively teach and mentor medical students and residents all year round. New practitioners are supported through the start up phase of their practice. CMC is a member of the Chinook Primary Care Network.
