Transition to Regional Primary Health Care Networks (RPHCN)

The transition to the RPHCN remains pending under the coordination of the provincial Primary and Preventive Health Services (PPHS) Transition Team. CPCN Management team and Board Chair attended a series of workshops hosted by Primary Care Alberta to help inform the creation of a target operating model for the RPHCNs. There are no updated timelines for the transition.

Policies

  • Approved revisions to the Equipment Purchase Policy to include power exam chairs as an exception to purchasing limits, added a provision allowing management to update the appendix and improve overall readability.
  • Approved revisions to the Nurse Practitioner Policy (which applies to Nurse Practitioners under the Nurse Practitioner Support Program) to remove some reporting requirements, requiring an annual review of the service agreement, and clarifying the community of practice attendance. Nolan Schaaf will be reaching out to each clinic with an updated service agreement in the weeks to come.
